It began as the Baby Grand series, then the Champion Spark Plug Challenge, then the Toyo Tires Touring series. They were the supporting races before the big show.
Cars were less developed and powerful, but races were tough and the competition was fierce. Many great drivers occasionally would indulge themselves at some races. We could start a discussion about this.
